Me to My Alarm: Seriously?!

I have a hard time waking up in the morning to go work out. Finding the motivation to get out of bed early is beyond difficult. I mean, I get in my morning workout, but I couldn’t get up for a 6 a.m. resistance training class, and when there’s a 7 a.m., yeah, why not sleep an extra hour?

Because it wrecks my day. Let me explain after the kitten.

Here’s how it goes down in the morning: I need my morning workout. I need to get up and do the 6 a.m. resistance training class. But it’s still dark outside, and I’m sleepy, and it’s so easy to reset my alarm to go off an hour later. Then I get home at 8 a.m., and it’s full-blown chaos, and then I don’t even get to work until after 9 a.m.

But if I do 6 a.m. workouts, I can mitigate the chaos, get everyone out the door, and sit down to work sooner. Granted, I can’t do 6 a.m. workouts if I’m running, since it’s still dark out, but I can get some work done first thing in the morning, then chaos-mitigate, then run.
The problem is that I love to read. I read novels like crazy on my iPad’s Kindle app. And since the only time I really have to read is bedtime… well, you know how that goes. I stay up late reading. Here’s what I need from my readers: How do you manage to put down the book/iPad/e-reader and go to bed early?
Please, help!
