Lucky me, I live in New England, which means it’s been in the mid-30s, at best. I had the Joshua Tree outfit from Fabletics all ready to go for a run last month, but I couldn’t actually test it out until last Saturday.
The Joshua Tree outfit consists of the Oula tank (the default color was this bright, happy coral) and Rio run capris (again, the default was this black tie-dye print with bright coral accents and black mesh piping down the sides). I added the Sintra bra to my cart, since I hadn’t tried it yet and it’s Fabletics’s first high impact sports bra.
Saturday I put it through a 6-mile run, and overall I was pretty satisfied. The Oula tank still isn’t my favorite, but it’s lightweight and comfortable, if a bit on the long side. It still feels soft, and the bright coral is a great pop of color on a dreary day.
As with last month, I was worried about this new sizing, particularly for my beloved Rios, which I’ve worn in two half marathons. These new Rios, however, fit just fine. I think the compression might be a little less, but I was overall very pleased with how they stayed up and moved with me. The pocket in the back is still there, as is the drawstring waist.
I am also pleased with the Sintra bra. I was very apprehensive about adjustable straps and hooks on a sports bra, but for a 6-miler, I didn’t feel any chafing or pinching. The Sintra also has some pretty good support, but my disclaimer is that I’m also not very well-endowed, so your mileage may vary.
Fabletics is great if you like to add to your workout wardrobe regularly. As with any line, there are hit or miss items, but I’ve found more hits than misses. I tend to avoid the “athleisure” items and buy performance fabrics for running or lifting, and I’ve really liked most of them. The new collection is out, and some of the items are pre-order. I’ll have reviews of my April picks up soon – I just got them earlier this week.
*Thanks to Suzanne Larocque of the Business Betties for this incredible shot! I do smile when I run, but I generally do not look this photogenic.
