Snacks and I are pretty good friends, so when I received Manitoba Harvest Hemp Heart Bars to review, in apple cinnamon and chocolate, I was definitely happy to try them.
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Heart Bars come in three different flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and apple cinnamon. Each 45 gram bar contains 10 grams of plant-based protein and 10 grams of omegas, and they’re made by the same folks that brought us the hemp hearts I like to use in my overnight oats. I love that they’re non-GMO, too.
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Heart Bar: Apple Cinnamon
This was, by far, my favorite of the two, surprisingly. The apple cinnamon flavor was subtle and really, just enough to taste a little like apple pie, but without the icky sluggish feeling that real apple pie gives me. I would definitely buy more of these to hide in my gym bag or my purse.
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Heart Bar: Chocolate
The chocolate flavor hemp heart bar wasn’t very chocolatey; what was subtle in the apple cinnamon hemp heart bar was lost in the chocolate bar. It was a really faint chocolate flavor, so it definitely didn’t taste like candy, but it was still tasty. If you’re not into sweet foods, this is probably the bar for you because it doesn’t hit you in the taste buds full force with chocolate – something that other protein bars do, and badly.
Overall, I’d recommend Manitoba Harvest Hemp Heart bars as great on-the-go snacks. If you want to get your very own box, head over to manitobaharvest.com and use the code hhbarlaunch1015 to save 15% off your very own box(es).
