August Fit Snack Box

August Fit Snack Box: Beans & Bites

The August Fit Snack Box came before Hurricane Harvey, and I was grateful. It was a hectic couple of weeks, what with the actual storm, the kids being out of school, and my husband helping with cleanup. I’m pleased that life is returning to normal. Normalcy and snacks make a great combination.

Note: I was provided a complimentary August Fit Snack Box in exchange for my honest review. I received no other compensation. This post may contain affiliate links. If you purchase from those links, I will receive a small cut. This money goes toward site operations.

The August Fit Snack Box had beans, brews, and bonuses. Find out what they snuck inside here! | Subscription boxes | Food subscription boxes

So where do we start?

Go Everly: This pomegranate berry hydration mix looked pretty awesome. You use a packet to make a pitcher. Since my fridge doesn’t have room for a pitcher, I still haven’t made this.

KALA Beautiful Beans: Set aside any jokes about fava beans and a nice chianti. These crunchy fava beans have the perfect seasoning and satisfy my salty/crunchy craving tidily. My August Fit Snack Box came with the sea salt and vinegar flavor.

Purity Coffee: This organic coffee came as a whole bean. I don’t own a grinder, so I have yet to try it. However, I do like coffee, and I do like that it’s packed with antioxidants. (Note: if you go to the website and buy some, use the coupon code FITSNACK30 for 30 percent off. Then use FITSNACKVIP for another 10 percent off. It expires 9/30/17.)

RawBite: These snack bars contain fruits, nuts, and nothing else. They’re also vegan and organic, as well as gluten-free. I liked the bar well enough, and I’d recommend them for a quick pre-afternoon workout snack.

Nutiva Chia Seeds: I used to put chia seeds in everything. I don’t so much anymore, but I love the idea of sprinkling some in my yogurt or oatmeal. The card recommends them as an egg replacement as well. Chia seeds have omega-3 fatty acids, minerals, protein, antioxidants, and fiber, so they’re a great supplement to other foods.

Rickaroons: Everyone was really excited about these coconut energy bars. I can see why. If you like coconut, you’ll love these. Coconut is the dominant flavor.

The Whole Grain Corporation wheat snacks: These lightly salted roasted wheat snacks are recommended for a salad topping or on the go snack. Spoiler alert: I haven’t tried them. They look good, and I’ll probably try them on a salad soon.

August Fit Snack Bonuses

My August Fit Snack Box included a couple of bonuses:

Shine Organic Superfood, Calm: I’m still on the fence about pureed food for grownups. That said, it’s a good idea when you’re starving, stuck in traffic, and ready to scream.

An organic energy drink: I apologize. For the life of me, I cannot remember what the energy drink was called. I also don’t have a clear photo. I did like it, although I spilled it on my Bluetooth keyboard.

Overall, not a bad Fit Snack Box last month! I’m hoping to see more protein (when do I not want MOAR PROTEIN?!) in September. What was your favorite item?
