Staying Hydrated as the Temperatures Rise: New BODYARMOR Sports Drinks for 2018
This is a sponsored post. I received product and payment for this review; however, all opinions are my own.
It’s spring in Houston, which is like the dog days of summer for anywhere else. I already know the spring and summer running season is going to be brutal, as will the summer CrossFit season. Afternoon runs already mean I’m sweating buckets, and I know it will only get hotter and more humid as we head into summer. But that’s life, and that means I need to make sure I stay well-hydrated.
I was pretty excited to find out that BODYARMOR Sports Drink introduced both BODYARMOR LYTE and BODYARMOR SportWater in 2018. I’ve tried BODYARMOR sports drink, and while it’s full of electrolytes and vitamins, it’s also too high in calories for me to justify drinking regularly (although I will chug one after a particularly grueling long run). BODYARMOR LYTE and BODYARMOR SportWater are different.
BODYARMOR LYTE is a low-calorie sports drink (only 20 calories per serving!) with natural flavorings and sweeteners. It includes electrolytes, coconut water, and vitamins, and it comes in four flavors: peach mango, cherry berry, orange citrus, and blueberry pomegranate. I found the flavor to be surprisingly sweet, but in a good way. Each 8-ounce serving contains 3 grams of sugar, which is decent when you’re thinking about how much you’re sweating! When I drink it chilled, it’s very refreshing. So far, my favorite flavor is peach mango.
BODYARMOR SportWater is enhanced water with a performance pH of 8+ and electrolytes. The bottle itself is wide-mouthed, making it easier to drink when you’re running or on-the-go.
You can get BODYARMOR Sports Drink products in six packs at several retail locations in the U.S., including Kroger, Stop & Shop, Wegman’s, King Kullen, Food Town, and ShopRite. And, of course, Amazon sells them!
These new BODYARMOR drinks get my summer hydration seal of approval. What do you normally drink to stay hydrated when water isn’t enough?
